Diversity

There is no ✌️“metaphor”✌️ for human civilizations cleaner to me than cultural diversity as biodiversity.

(Only someone from a monoculture would relate to it as a metaphor.)

I find it actually explains history better than something more sociological, with humanity at the center.

The way that a life form that feels no environmental pressure will simply expand to fill the entire world until it chokes itself to death is why speciation occurred at all.
