Live Improv (Astrology) in the #dojo 🟣🟩 ' With @nobuhojimichaan

My friend nobuhojimichaan ' of TIGER TIME: TIME fame hosts a space called #dojo 🟣🟩 ', which serves a purpose in the online spiritual marketplace I find radically admirable. It is a way to show integrity and trust through transparency, letting practitioners who practice on others show their work in public.

As I endeavor to demonstrate with my horary write-ups, this is a paramount value of mine, and upholding it is a qualification for the company I keep in the online hypersangha I consider to be my spiritual friends (not to mention my referral list).

I was honored to be asked to participate in #dojo 🟣🟩 ' myself. Apparently I was the first to be asked, and I was the last to appear in this series. I agreed to show my whole astrological process starting the moment I receive a query, meaning I did not know for sure what Nobu would ask or what kind of astrology I would need to deploy to answer him.

As it turned out, I made an election for him. This really pushed me to my limit, not only because I don’t typically do live consultations at all but because elections are excruciatingly detailed and take a long time. I did manage to keep us (barely, not really) on time, but it was a lot to juggle, especially since I felt it necessary to explain what I was doing at a level that made it at least somewhat accessible, I hope.

I’m glad we did an election because it provided so many opportunities for philosophical side conversations about the stakes and considerations. I wouldn’t want anybody out there to receive a shoddy product for an inquiry typically concerned with life-altering decisions. My hope is that people will learn from this what elections really entail, and that they will consider their value for more of their activities and yet take them far more seriously as works of astrological magic.

Doing elections live is pretty rough, honestly. One always makes little technical mistakes in the course of dialing in an election; one does not always do so in front of a live audience, as I did here. But this experience was definitely enjoyable enough to get me considering some kind of live public horary answering practice. We shall see.

Here is the video of my visit to the #dojo 🟣🟩 '. Please enjoy.

Here are my astrological offerings, for those who are interested.
